On Tuesday, the 9th of July, 2024, the Shangombo Town Council gathered for a full Council meeting in the council chamber.
During her address to the house, Ms. Inonge Mubika, the Chairperson of the Shangombo Town Council, shared her enriching experience from a recent trip to Sweden where she participated in a workshop from the 13th to the 24th of May, 2024.
Additionally, Ms. Mubika revealed her plan to mentor two young girls from each ward in the district, nurturing them into potential future leaders.
She Encouraged all civic leaders to actively advocate against the detrimental effects of early child marriages in their respective wards, the council chairperson emphasized the importance of this issue.
The meeting was well attended, with the presence of all councillors from Shangombo District, department heads of the Council, the District Commissioner, as well as heads of various devolved government departments.
